Our history
FC Zugersee: stronger together, on and off the pitch
For us, FC Zugersee is far more than a football club. It is a place to meet, to integrate and to enjoy sport for its own sake. Since we were founded in 2010 we have stood for an open, family-friendly and inclusive football culture in the canton of Zug. Our aim: to connect people through sport, to promote health and to strengthen our community for the long term.
One team, more than 40 nations
Diversity is our greatest strength. With around 200 members from across the canton, we embody what football does best: bringing people together. Whether you are a local, a newcomer, an expat or a refugee — here you play side by side with people from more than 40 nations. That mix is what makes club life here so lively, encourages exchange and creates a strong sense of belonging in the Zug region.
Football as a bridge to integration
Social responsibility is written into our DNA. Working closely with the Amt für Migration, the canton of Zug's migration office, we help refugees take an active part in club life. We create a platform where new friendships form and barriers come down. In 2017 this project close to our hearts was recognised with the “Prix Zug engagiert” — an encouragement to keep going.
The Football League Zug: your place in the game
One highlight of our club is the Football League Zug. More than ten teams from the region — from casual players to corporate sides — compete in this recreational league. What counts here above all is fair play, fun and a passion for the game. This network of enthusiastic players grows with every season.
